Heart in solidarity with the planet is the socio-environmental contribution of São Tomé, created and implemented in local schools by the Fundação da Criança e da Juventude in partnership with the Earth Child Institute and the Water School, funded worldwide by Swarovski.
The entire project programme developed is aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
"Small but firm steps towards a better world"
Officially launched in 2021, the project seeks to cultivate a new generation that is aware of environmental challenges and has the tools to become the authors of the next big transformations towards a sustainable world.
But why?
In the last 10 years, we have produced more plastic than in the previous century
8-10 tonnes of plastic ends up in the sea every year
Plastics generally take 500-1000 years to degrade

Focusing on the fight against plastic in the ocean, the project materialized in the construction of a giant heart, which the pupils fill with plastics they collect at home and in the community.
